Love is in the Air

Hello my lovelies, it's your Astrology Diva here to talk to about love & romance!!
It's  February which means love is in the air!! Valentine's Day is just right around the corner. It is a time to show an appreciation for your significant others as well as have love in your life, and more importantly to have love for yourself. However this is a holiday that brings on more stress and bitter feelings than Thanksgiving and Christmas combined.
Why do you ask? Great expectations.
For those that are coupled up to be uber-romantic and give the "perfect gift"  have the "perfect date" and have an experience that can only be read about in a "Nicholas Sparks novel. Conversely for those of us that are single there is a pressure to get coupled up so we won't have to tell our friends and family "no worries I'm spending Valentine's Day alone....again."
However it really doesn't have to be. Valentine's Day should be fun, flirtatious, and not taken so seriously. Think about it. We are just getting out of the gloomy doldrums of January, there are heart decorations as far as the eye can see, and pink and red colors everywhere. Not to mention all the yummy chocolates in cute heart-shaped boxes and message candy hearts.
Sometimes I think we take holidays, and ourselves way too seriously and manage to suck all the fun out of everything. We made a cute holiday like Valentine's Day work and absolute drudgery.
Now I know what your thinking. No I haven't always been so warm & fuzzy about this holiday. I used to pout and be like "why me ?" I'm single boohoo." Until one Valentine's Day I wasn't. I was excited I thought "ohh this will be the best Valentine's Day Ever!"  Not only was it not it was the worst! For the first time I thought I'd be spending this super romantic day with my boyfriend ..not so. He went off on a trip without me. I got a gift, it was nice but ultimately alone. There is nothing worse than thinking that you are in a relationship with somebody, but ultimately you are alone.
It's true what they say that like attracts like. When you don't have love for yourself you will attract low-vibrating people. This particular man had told me about his distaste for Valentine's Day, and how he'd always been single and that made him hit the holiday more. At the time I thought "woo-hoo" I hit the jackpot. It was a big karmic lesson. Obviously we broke up. I am way happier. More than that I realized that I needed to stop relying on a man, gifts, or a day of the month to make me happy and loved . I had to do that for myself. It's very freeing when you are not reliant on somebody else or desperately searching for somebody else. Just today somebody asked me if I hated being single I can honestly say that I don't. Even though I don't have romantic love in my life right now, I have a lot of love in my life and more importantly I love my life. Which I think is pretty great and I think that is something for which we should all strive.
So this Valentine's Day whether you're happily coupled up or single and ready to mingle, have fun, enjoy the day and spread the love!! <3 <3 Until nest time XOXO
